That address reaches a person. We read every message and reply as soon as we can — we are a small operation, so please allow a few working days.
To help us answer on the first reply, tell us:
- the email address you use with NewsWave (if you have an account),
- your device and iOS version,
- what you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
1. About NewsWave
NewsWave is a news app for people living in a country whose language they do not yet read fluently. It gathers reporting from trusted publishers, summarises each article, and translates the summary into your language. It also carries official Swedish emergency alerts, translated.
- Available on iPhone and iPad (iOS).
- Content is currently published for Sweden.
- Available in English, Swedish, Arabic and Ukrainian.
- Free. No advertising, no third-party ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking identifiers.
NewsWave is operated as a Swedish sole trader business (enskild firma) by Sadashiv Gour.
2. Emergency alerts
NewsWave relays official public safety information from Krisinformation.se, weather warnings from SMHI, VMA (Viktigt Meddelande till Allmänheten) bulletins carried by Sveriges Radio, and Swedish Police reports.
Critical alerts are pushed to your phone. For those to reach you, notifications must be allowed for NewsWave in iOS Settings → Notifications. If you have denied that permission, or have Focus or Do Not Disturb configured to suppress the app, alerts will not appear.
NewsWave is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for one. It relays published information and can be delayed or interrupted by circumstances outside our control. In an emergency in Sweden, call 112. For official information direct from the source, see krisinformation.se.
If you believe you missed an alert that was issued, please tell us — include roughly when it was and where you were. That is the single most useful bug report we receive.
3. Common questions
Changing your language or country. Both are in the app's settings. The country control also appears on the feed, so you can switch between the country you live in and the country you came from without leaving the article list.
An article is not translated, or the summary looks wrong. Summaries and translations are produced automatically and are occasionally poor. Every article links through to the original publisher, which is always the authoritative version. Send us the article and we will look at it.
A source is missing, wrong, or should not be there. Email us with the publisher and what you are seeing. If you are a rights holder with a copyright concern, see our Content & Copyright Policy.
Deleting your account and your data. You can delete your account from within the app, in the data-management section of your profile. Deletion removes your account and associated personal data — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is erased and what we are legally required to retain. You can also request deletion by emailing us.
Sign-in problems. Email us from the address you registered with and describe what you see. Do not send us your password; we will never ask for it.
4. Privacy, data and legal contacts
